Westfield Baseboard Hot Water

Looking for Westfield Baseboard Hot Water services?  Whether you are aware of it or not, your hot water heater is one of your best friends during the harsh season of winter!  Not only does the hot water heater drive warm comforting water into your shower/bath, dishwasher and washing machine but it also heats your home and keeps you and your family cozy all winter long.  Don’t waste money by letting your water heater become inefficient. Below is some advice to help you save money on your hot water heater to keep your home warm!

Westfield Baseboard Hot WaterWestfield Baseboard Hot Water – Advice to Save Money!

Insulate your water tank and the pipes

Insulating your hot water tank helps making the unit more efficient by keeping the heat inside the water. If you have an electric heater do not cover the thermostat.  However, if your unit runs on oil or gas, never put insulation over the burner compartment, or over the thermostat.  The most important thing is to follow the manufacturer’s instructions above all else.  If you run into problems, contact a Westfield Baseboard Hot Water service professional.

Not only can you insulate the tank, but you can also insulate your pipes.  Pipe insulation keeps the heat in the water where it belongs instead of escaping into the air. The hotter you keep the water, the more efficient the unit will be.  You can insulate pipes that are very near to the actual tank, but always double check with the manufacturer’s suggestions.  If you are ever in doubt, contact a professional to assist you.  If your unit runs on gas, always leave six inches of space between any insulation and the flue to prevent fires!

Use less water

Westfield Hot Water HeaterAlthough it may not be the most fun thing in the world, consider using less water to make your unit more efficient.   If less water is processed through the system, it will increase the longevity of the system.  The longer lifespan of your system means more money in your pocket.  There are many practical ways to use less water that don’t impact your lifestyle. For example, you can use a water saving shower head that uses fewer gallons per minute.

Another tip is to use cooler water.  Although it can be tempting to take a scalding hot shower on a cold day, consider lowering the temperature of your hot water heater.  Small differences like cooler showers can make a big difference when it comes to saving money.

Install a timer

Install a timer to keep you heater switched off at night.  This is very similar to a programmable thermostat. If your unit isn’t working at night, your hot water heater will work less and you will save money!

The sump pump in our house died at what naturally had to be the worst possible time, and Good Tidings really stepped up for us. I was able to get in contact with their overnight call center who was able to get me set up for a plumber to come over first thing in the morning. Ben showed up nice and early and did a great job explaining what was going on with the pump, and was able to get it replaced right away. He was also kind enough not to mock my MacGyver mini sump pump/hose contraption that I threw together to get us through the night. Overall we couldn’t be happier, they were able to get the pump fixed right away, and saved us a lot of stress. Special thanks to Ben for doing a great job all around.
